Active Directory-Versioning and revision-safety Reporting Within the scope of the project, a total of 3 software components were implemented to realize different standards. Initially through the project, the Quest Active Roles Server was used to make available provisioning functions and to eliminate various sources of error by the administration through automatic recurring processes. Furthermore, in this way improved data quality could be guaranteed on the directory service. Finally, a central adminsitration authority makes available the converted solutions, which bring clear facilitation in reporting about vital function modifications on or within the central directory service. Additionally, the project implemented a solution which made it possibile to retrace adminstrative processes in the entire Microsoft-based IT environment at any time. With the help of the Software Symantec Control Compliance Suite, the chance now exists to collect data from all work stations and severs and to use this data for compliance-evaluations. Moreover, in this way the administration can collate the information very quickly and without any complex handling, which can be drawn in an almost user-defined current status for example, Driver configurations, NTFS-authorizations in selected target directories, local security settings etc. Finally, through the project, transparency of the individual administrative procedures in the group guideline environment of the client could be secured, as the employment of the NETIQ Group Policy Administartors was made available and now guarantees the documentation of changes, as well as the possibility to undo changes. Additionally, with the help of the software, the four eye principle, an authorization procedure for changes to the environment could be implemented. WP2 – Technichal Infrastructure The task of the project was to make available all physical and software-technical components, as well as the documention of the infrastructure, which was used in furnishing a new securities trading system. Within this scope, an extranet design was set up to allow access to the host-based trading system and then later implemented through the configuration of all components involved. In doing this, a specail focus was placed on the security of the solution to protect the sensitive flow of data from unauthorized influences. Furthermore, by the utilization of the Extranet connection the communication of 3270-terminal emulation and the integration of host-based printing services in the Microsoft-Printing Landscape were designed. Finally the architecture for a smooth transfer of data between several Host systems using a central Data Hub based on Windows Server 2003 and SUN Solaris was developed. Production of System Documentation In compliance with various regulatory and legal demands, the project worked out an obligatory documentation guideline for IT-Systems and later tried to integrate, as best they could, the existing documentation in the new Document structure. In order to supplement unavailable documentation, an extensive analysis of the present status of the respective IT-Systems was carried out and the results recorded in the documents pursuant to the guidelines. This also involved developing extensive emergency and recovery plans, as well as operating manuals and installation guidelines. Additionally through the project processes were developed that would in future, secure regular contact with weak points of the IT-Systems, as well as deal effectively with patches and updates.
